AV Recruitment Process Leaves Grads in the Dark

On Monday the 19th of October, 2020 AEAV requested to meet with Ambulance Victoria to discuss their non-transparent recruitment process.

Many Graduates have been left in the dark, sometimes years at a time, while they wait to hear from Ambulance Victoria whether they have been successful in the recruitment process.

Graduates have spoken to AEAV about enduring long delays in correspondence with AV and being requested to resubmit paperwork multiple times at a hefty cost to the Graduate. Others have outlined how wait times for placement on the Order of Merit have been unreasonably long and without communication from AV.

Paramedic Graduates do not take on extensive degrees and training only to be disrespected by their only potential employer in Victoria. AV needs to respect Graduates as the health care professionals that they are and respond to their applications in a timely and professional manner.

If you are a Graduate and would like to know more about the AV recruitment process or share your story, contact the union via ph. (03) 9287 1713 or email aea.vic@unitedworkers.org.au
