Paramedics are speaking up about the importance of protecting psychological health in the workplace.
A report commissioned by Safe Work Australia has made key recommendations for how model health and safety laws should be improved.
One of the most important recommendations is for psychological health to be formally recognised in workplace health and safety law for the first time.
This would mean putting real regulations in place to ensure that employers have a responsibility to protect against risk to our mental health.
The next step will be for state governments to vote on whether they support these recommendations being part of the national model standard.
