Free Will Service

AEAV members can access a free will service from our legal partner Maurice Blackburn.

A Will is one of the most important legal documents you will sign in your lifetime. It determines who will be in control of your estate after your death, and how your estate is to be distributed. Despite this, a staggering 50% of Australians do not have a valid Will.

Maurice Blackburn has made the process of getting a Will faster and easier online so all AEAV members and their partners can create a FREE standard Will.

What can I access? 

AEAV members and their partners are entitled to a free standard Will and are also offered discounted prices on other documents provided by Maurice Blackburn. Below is a list of their full offerings:

• Standard Wills only for a couple & single is free.
• Standard Wills + Financial/Personal Power of Attorney + Medical Power of Attorney for a couple is $560 and for a single is $440
• MyLife Documents (standard Will, Financial/Personal and Medical Powers of Attorney, Statement of Wishes, and Advanced Care Directive) package which costs $1100 for a couple and $940 for a single. You can find more information about this here.

They also provide a paper instructions service should you prefer not to complete your instructions online. They will require your full name, postal address and number of instruction sheets your require to organise this.

 

How can I access this offer?

To proceed, members simply create an account using your email address and select which product or package you want to proceed with. You will be able to invite their spouse/partner to the application to complete their instructions as well.

Once Maurice Blackburn receive your completed instructions they will contact you to organise a conference call to review your instructions and discuss any complexities before their team begins drafting your documents.

You are just required to quote your union membership number to redeem your free Will. You will also need to refer to your Union as “United Workers Union’, the bigger union the AEAV is part of.
