As part of the approval of the new enterprise agreement, it was found that there were significant issues with the shift penalty system in operation at National Patient Transport.
To make sure that members weren’t underpaid, NPT and your union agreed to conduct a monthly review of all employee wages to check for this problem and pay underpaid staff a top-up payment to fix the issue.
This will mean around one third of employees will be entitled to a top up payment at the end of every month. For some members this will be a payment as high as $350 per month.
This is a complicated process because the calculation will need to take into account all of the different shifts and pay entitlements you received over the month.
It is vital the first review is done properly to ensure those members affected get what they are owed. Union members are doing a thorough review, as this is the first time the top-up payment will be made, and it is critical that it is accurate.
The first reconciliation is being paid at the end of this pay period.
