In December 2015 AEA-V members submitted our witness statements and submissions to the Paramedics Work Value Case – a huge 351kg of paper!
This is an enormous and significant milestone – our members have been fighting for many, many years for pay that reflects our extensive training and life-saving, professional skills.
In February Ambulance Victoria responds with their witness statements and submissions, followed by our reply to those and then the case will be heard in the Fair Work Commission (FWC) from 14 March 2016.
We’re hopeful, of course, for a positive outcome as soon as possible and that an increase in wages will prevail before the middle of this year.
This case has come out of the EB which we settled at the end of 2014 with the new state government following our enormous and unprecedented Code Red campaign. Paramedics will get their 12% increase over 2 years, plus any outcome from this Work Value case. Keep your fingers crossed that the FWC value our ambos!
Non-operational employees received 12% over 2 years. Admin staff had a review of their classifications and FMO’s & NEPT received a further 2% increase.
