A report commissioned by Safe Work Australia has made key recommendations for how model health and safety laws should be improved.

One of the most important recommendations is for psychological health be formally recognised in workplace health and safety law for the first time. This would mean putting real regulations in place to ensure that employers have a responsibility to protect against risk to our mental health.

The next step will be for state government to vote on whether they support these recommendations being part of the national model standard.

It is time for those most affected to have their say about why change is so important.

Sessions to provide feedback start tomorrow, and will continue next week. An updated schedule will be provided as soon as it is confirmed.
