UWU has formally raised concerns with Ambulance Victoria over its ongoing failure to provide Employee Engagement Forums as required under Clause 19 of the AVEA2024.
AV has previously tried to set up these forums, but they have not been genuine opportunities for staff to have their say. They have largely been run by senior management and focused on giving employees information, rather than allowing staff to raise concerns and work with management to find solutions.
Employees should have a genuine opportunity to identify workplace issues, propose solutions, and have a say in resolving matters that affect their work.
Rebuilding confidence and trust in these forums will take time, but this does not remove AV’s obligation to meet its requirements under the Agreement.
UWU is calling on AV to immediately recommence Employee Engagement Forums in accordance with Clause 19 of the AVEA2024.
