Spares Rest Break Grievance

The AEAV has pursued a grievance with Ambulance Victoria that paramedics working Spare should not be contacted during their ten hour rest break. The grievance has been pursued to stage two of the process and closed by AV saying, “AV understand that disruptions are not always welcomed, to mitigate this, employees may choose to set their telephone(s) to silent during their rest break when asleep or return any missed calls at their earliest convenience.”

The union does not agree that paramedics should turn their phone to silent in order to receive a full ten hour rest break from work and will be pursuing the matter further. You can read AV’s response to AEAV’s grievance here.
