AEAV has been supporting members at the Financial Transactional Services (FTS) branch of AV in a recent restructure. As part of that process we have come up against an opaque and confusing Mercer CED Job Evaluation system that has affected members’ classification and pay rates. We have repeatedly requested additional information from AV so staff can understand why they are classified and paid the way they are, but we have consistently been told the system is too complex for us or members to understand. This is simply not acceptable in 2021.
We will be pushing for a different classification system for Administrative staff included in the AV Operational Agreement when bargaining kicks off in a few years. However, in the meantime, we have requested an internal review of the job evaluations of the FTS roles to better understand the process. You can read our most recent letter to AV HERE.
