On 4 July 2025, United Workers Union members welcomed Jordan Emery as the new CEO of Ambulance Victoria. In their letter, members shared their commitment to making AV a safer, fairer, and more rewarding place to work. They also highlighted key union priorities like enterprise bargaining, fixing end-of-shift issues, and improving conditions for corporate and fleet staff.
Members acknowledged Mr. Emery’s track record in leadership and culture change and said they were hopeful about what that could mean for AV’s ongoing cultural reform after the VEOHRC review. They invited him to meet with members directly and start building open, respectful communication from day one.
In his reply, Mr. Emery thanked members for the warm welcome and said he’s committed to listening and learning from the workforce. He recognised the important role union members play and asked his Executive Assistant to set up an initial meeting to get things started.
It’s a great first step toward a more collaborative and supportive relationship between UWU members and AV leadership.
