SEPT 2023 MOU PROVISIONS WILL NOT BE EXTENDED – INCLUDING MENTOR ALLOWANCE

Your Delegates expressed concern particularly over the operational consequence that will result if the mentor allowance and overtime rates are reduced back to the current EBA rates.

ESTA have confirmed the following:

ESTA will not be extending any of the current financial provisions beyond 30 September 2023. We are unable to support the continuation of the items specifically requested, including:

Item B (8) – Mentor allowance (as varied subsequent agreement to $9 per hour).

Item C (2) – all OT at double time; and

Item C (3) – hard to fill overtime allowance

This means that as of 1 October 2023:

• Mentor Allowance will be $3.50 per/hr
• All OT will be time and a half for the first 2 hours and then double time after that (except Sunday OT which is double time for all OT hours worked.)

EBA Negotiations are in progress and now more than ever members need to remember there is STRENGTH IN UNITY!
