The Triple Zero Victoria (TZV) Union Consultative Committee (UCC) met on 29 April, with several key issues raised by union members.
High attrition in the service stream remains a major concern, with members reporting recruits entering live environments without adequate preparation, increasing pressure on existing staff. The union reiterated the need for stronger training, support, and retention strategies.
Members also raised concerns about short disciplinary process timeframes, which can undermine procedural fairness and increase stress on workers. UWU will continue advocating for fair and consistent response periods.
Upcoming changes to ProQA were discussed, with members emphasising the need for both online and face-to-face training to ensure workers are confident and supported during system updates.
TZV also outlined early plans for a Transition to Retirement policy. Union members support the initiative and will remain involved to ensure it delivers meaningful and flexible options for workers approaching retirement.
The union will continue advocating for improvements to support members and strengthen the critical services Victorians rely on.
